Basically, once per month we get together and provide collegial instruction in the area of technology infusion into the classroom. We have focused on primary tools for infusing technology into the classroom as well as utilizing other freeware/shareware available on the net to partner with our interactive white boards, mobile labs, and standard computer labs. WHY? These teachers then share within their departments what they are learning to inspire others to be WIRED . Anyone else doing something similar? Anything terrific and a must have out there? I have to say that this topic is incredibly disruptive to the status quo, but a critical conversation for the future of education. There's the content; there's the learner; what does the teacher do to structure the engagement of the two? There's the way it is a la Alvin Toffler... and there's the question teachers pose when they agree with Toffler: "Okay, tell me what I can do differently?" Is "user-generated" learning the answer? Also, the analysis tools are intriguing, and if they can support substantive conversations that help to address questions such as those you list, they hold much promise for communities of practice.
